Project: DIY Miracle TonerSupplies needed:
Apple cider vinegar (I use this kind but any raw kind with ‘the mother’ would work)
Water (or even a little rose water if you’re feeling fancy)
Container (a little spray bottle is most convenient)

Directions:
This vinegar is pretty strong, so you shouldn’t use it straight up! It just depends on your skin type for how much you can handle. I started with a mixture of 3 parts water to 1 part vinegar but also read it’s even better to start with 4 parts water to 1 part vinegar just in case. I ended up adding another part of vinegar so I am using a 3 part water to 2 part vinegar mixture , and that seems to be working for me! Now when you put this on and stink to high heaven you will be wondering why the heck you followed my seemingly terrible advice. But have no fear! The second this stuff evaporates on your skin the smell disappears! I just keep a little spray bottle of the stuff to spray on a little cotton square and wipe my face every morning and night after washing up (well, I wash with cleanser at night and just water in the morning).
Now go, enjoy (hopefully) clear skin!

Sweet Orange Lip Balm

8 Tablespoons Coconut Oil
3 Tablespoons Beeswax
1.5 Tablespoons Raw Honey
30 drops Sweet Orange essential oil
(if you want color) 1/2 stick of natural lipstick

Place oil, beeswax and honey in a double boiler (or heatproof bowl resting on top of a small saucepan of simmering water). (As a side note, I picked up an extra double boiler thrifting that I use just for beeswax crafts, which really makes cleanup easier.) Heat gently until everything has melted.
Remove mixture from heat, and add peppermint oil and lipstick. Stir until blended. Place the pan or bowl in a larger bowl full of cold water. Stir quickly until the mixture begins to change in consistency (it will become thicker).
Pour mixture into containers, place covers on, and let sit to cool and set up.
(fills approximately one dozen 1/2 oz tins)

Here is a simple hand and body scrub you can make at home using all natural ingredients. Sugar is an excellent and gentle exfoliant for dry skin and olive oil is perfect for moisturizing. The citrus provides alpha hydroxy acid to help remove dead skin cells naturally. Plus it smells pretty great.
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup olive oil
lemon zest
orange zest
Combine all ingredients and pour into an airtight glass container and store in a cool dry place.

It’s supposed to be 88 this weekend in Portland and I plan to be outside as much as possible. Is it really summer now? Also, been listening to this album non-stop. So good.
